Yesterday was not an easy one for all of us here at Movie Junkies. Each and every one of us, for our own reasons, has in their life drawn great hope and inspiration from the late, great David Bowie, his music, his art and his unflappable sense of self that made him such an icon. Words cannot encapsulate the profound sense of loss, the void left by his passing. The closest we’ve been able to find to expressing how we truly feel come from Carrie Brownsein of Sleater-Kinney and Portlandia fame, “It feels like we lost something elemental, as if an entire color is gone.”

In honor of his life and achievements, in our own small way, The Midnight Sun would like to change this upcoming Movie Junkies to a selection of Bowie’s work on screen. Please come and join us to celebrate one of the brightest stars our galaxy has ever known. He knows where he is now, and rest assured he won’t let it be boring.

Popcorn and coffee on the house.

Tuesday January 19 at the Midnight Sun. Doors at 7:30pm, movie at 8pm.
